consciously and controverisially crude

Vogue Italia is once again stirring up a bit controversy and no, this time it's not from nudity or violent images but instead a graphic and disturbing depiction of the BP oil spill. The images of beautiful models destroyed by the darkness of the slick oil paints an incredibly horrifying picture of the damage this disaster is causing to the stunning environment around us.

Suffocating girls strewn across jagged rocks, gasping for air and life but despite all strength finding themselves drowning in the industrialisation of society. In my opinion it presents a powerful political message to an audience who might not place the biggest significance on the disaster at hand. An incredible piece of political artwork this time Vogue Italia should be heralded not criticised.

Breathe in the darkness that is happening all around us.
